Located at the corner of Gloucester Avenue and High Street in Berwick, 1884 Courthouse Restaurant offers superb Modern Australian cuisine. As its name suggests the national trust building was built in 1884 and the main dining room used to be a court room. Popular dishes include garlic prawns (six prawn tails sautéed in a rich garlic, cream and white wine sauce, served over turmeric jasmine rice), rack of lamb with herb crust (a four point rack of lamb with a herb crust, served with mash, a warm tomato salad and beans) and barramundi (a whole barramundi deep fried until crispy, served with bok choy and a shredded Asian omelette of spring onion and Chinese sausage dressed with a fantastic zingy sauce).
